Tesla Motors to Open New Headquarters and Manufacturing Plant in San Jose

Barely 48 hours since San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed spoke at the opening night of the Always On Going Green event that he was working very closely with Governor Schwarzenegger in making sure that Tesla Motors stays in CA that the electric car manufacturer announces plans to move its new headquarters and manufacturing facility for its electric cars to San Jose, CA. Both will be located on about 90 acres of land adjacent to the water-treatment plant off Zanker Road near Highway 237 in North San Jose. That property is jointly owned by San Jose and Santa Clara, whose city councils still need to approve the terms of the deal which will create hundreds of new jobs and will expand the city's tax base. For Tesla, this move is integral in in achieving its goal of producing zero-emission cars in volume. For more on this story, click here.
