Ok, this has nothing to do with being eco-friendly, but just something cool I thought I'd pass along. Imagine being ten hours into a road trip, with the straight, smooth highway ahead almost lulling you to sleep, you sure could use a vigilant driving buddy with a strong shot of espresso. Volvo has come up with the next-best thing: The Swedish automaker recently launched new technology for select 2008 models to prevent accidents caused by driver distraction and fatigue. An internal camera continuously measures the distance between the car and lane markings on the road, while sensors register the car's movement. When the driver is at high risk of losing control of the car, a symbol in the shape of a coffee cup flashes on the dashboard.
